Autobots and Decepticons surround Perceptor -- in microscope transform -- as he carefully examines the control panel under his scope.

POV - THROUGH PERCEPTOR'S SCOPE:

Broken and missing circuits, scraped chips.

PERCEPTOR (VO)
The space bridge control panel is Repairable!

ON PERCEPTOR AND COMPANY

Perceptor TRANSFORMS to robot mode, holding the panel...

PERCEPTOR (VO-CONT)
But I'll need two micro-snap plugs, a gyro condensor, and some gravitational boosting motorizers!

PROWL
(joking) Anybody have any spare parts on 'em?!

ANOTHER ANGLE - FEATURE PRIME

Optimus Prime TRANSFORMS to robot mode and lies on his back ready to be operated on.

PRIME
I will donate some of the needed parts from my own components, Perceptor...

ANGLE - MEGATRON

grins with malicious delight.

PRIME (VO-CONT)
...if Megatron agrees to do the same!

Megatron loses his grin.

ANGLE - MEGATRON AND PERCEPTOR SPIKE As Spike confronts him.

PERCEPTOR SPIKE
You'll be evaporated perfection if we don't get to Cybertron and stop Starscream!

Megatron GRUMBLES, and leans over to Ramjet, pointing at Perceptor.

MEGATRON
Ramjet, if this micro Autobot quack does anything suspicious, shatter his lenses -- from the inside!

Ramjet nods.

ANGLE - ON THE GROUND

The horizontal Prime is Joined by a horizontal Megatron, as Perceptor YANKS off the chest plates of each robot.

FLIP TO:

EXT. - OCEAN - DAY

Steam floats off the violently boiling waves that BREAK at the beach -- which has turned to red hot coals. Blades CHOPS INTO SHOT, spraying down a wide film of cooling gel (a thick green liquid) which stops the boiling where it hits -- and cools the scorched beach.

CLOSE ON BLADES

He sprays some cooling gel on himself.

INSIDE BLADES

On his dash board, an indicator shows his "coolant level" near empty.

BLADES (VO)
What am I gonna do?! I can't cool the whole planet!

EXT. - URBAN AREA - DAY

The blinding yellow sky beams down onto deserted streets, cracking from the heat. DISTANT SIRENS GET LOUDER, until Streetwise and Cruiser ZOOM INTO SHOT, each pulling a busload of humans. They stop outside a vast building marked: "METRO MEATPACKING."

INT. - METRO MEATPACKING

A giant freezer with iced walls and cool steam in the air. CAMERA PANS to find, amidst the hanging sides of beef, the place is crowded with refugees of the sudden heat wave, and at the front door,Cruiser and Streetwise let in a herd of people.

CRUISER
They'll freeze in here!

STREETWISE
No way! The temperature keeps climbing so fast outside they'll be okay until the ice melts.

And as they dash back out of the door, We hear their SIRENS BLARE OFF into the distance.

FLIP TO:

EXT. - SPACE BRIDGE - ON PERCEPTOR

Perceptor finishes reinstalling the repaired control panel, which lights up as it is activated.

OTHERS (VO)
(GASPS OF ADMIRATION)

ANOTHER ANGLE

Finds Megatron and Thundercracker inside the space bridge, with Ramjet near the control panel.

MEGATRON
Ramjet, quickly, transport us!

Prime lunges INTO SHOT, between Ramjet and the controls.

PRIME
Not so fast.

Megatron aims his cannon at Prime.

MEGATRON
We'll handle this, Prime!

Prime spins round as if to duck any expected volleys, points his weapon at Megatron, and boards the space bridge.

PRIME
Right, Megatron. We -- the Decepticons and the Autobots -- will handle this!

ANOTHER ANGLE

As Prowl and Sideswipe board the space bridge, aiming their weapons at Thundercracker and Ramjet -- who cover the Autobots. Bright red light from the sky reflects off their armor.

WIDER

As Perceptor punches buttons to activate the space bridge.

PERCEPTOR
not even sure it will work!

WIDE ON SPACE BRIDGE

as it is ACTIVATED, sending the Transformers up into the clouds in the stock space bridge effect.

FLIP TO:

EXT. - CYBERTRON - ESTABLISHING

CUT TO:

INT. - DECEPTICON HQ ON CYBERTRON - SPACE - BRIDGE CHAMBER

The doors open, and the Transformers move out.

PRIME
Quickly! we must find Starscream!

RAMJET
Where's Shockwave?!

STARSCREAM(OS)
Help! Save me!

WIPE TO:

INT. - THE CELLS - CLOSE ON STARSCREAM

STARSCREAM
It was the Combaticons! They locked us in here! And they forced me to do it threaten you Megatron! Believe me!

The CAMERA PULLS BACK to show Megatron de-activating the electronic cell bars, releasing Starscream and Shockwave.

SHOCKWAVE
He is lying!

MEGATRON AND STARSCREAM

Megatron stops Starscream on his way out of the cell.

MEGATRON
All is not forgiven, Starscream! You are free at my command ... but only to deactivate whatever device is moving the Earth into the sun!

CLOSE ON STARSCREAM

He smiles.

STARSCREAM
Then you are relinquishing leadership of the Decepticons?!

BACK TO SHOT

MEGATRON
Don't be a fool!

STARSCREAM
Then let the Earth burn! You are safe here on Cybertron!

CLOSE ON MEGATRON

He thinks it over..and smiles!

MEGATRON
You may be right, Starscream!

SHOCKWAVE (VO)
The Combaticons are attacking Headquarters!

Megatron whirls around furiously...

WIDER ANGLE - STARSCREAM AND MEGATRON

A bomb explodes in front of both of them, knocking them to ground. SFX: EXPLOSION.

ANGLE - BRAWL

His barrel is smoking.

BRAWL
Starscream is our prisoner!

Brawl, Onslaught, and Swindle FIRE o.s. Rockets, bombs, electronic pellets, and lasers fly every which way!

ANGLE - NEAR DECEPTICON HQ Shockwave

Shockwave stands near a troop of Sentinel guards, lined up and FIRING their weapons.

ANOTHER ANGLE

As, from outer space, Blast Off drops long range bombs that EXPLODE o.s

ON PRIME

One of Blast Off's bombs EXPLODES nearby, knocking Prime off his Feet!

ON SWINDLE

Another one EXPLODES on Swindle, capsizing the jeep --

SWINDLE (VO)
Hey! Watch where you aim that thing!

--and then FIRES back up at his comrade.

ducks the barrage -- and hollers:

BLAST OFF (VO)
Well, Excu-u-u-use me!

ANGLE ON PRIME

Prime gets up, hollers:

PRIME
Prowl! Sideswipe! Cover me!

ANGLE - Prowl and Sideswipe ON THE CYBERTRON SURFACE Prowl and Sideswipe FIRE up at Blast Off o.s.

ON BLAST OFF

Blast enters frame, --knocking the distant space craft into a wild spin. He falls into Vortex, and they both tumble OUT OF SCENE.

ANGLE ON THREE COMBATICONS AND MEGATRON

Megatron FIRES RAPIDLY at Swindle, Brawl, and Onslaught, knocking them down like bowling pins. Vortex and Blast Off TUMBLE INTO SHOT, on top of the other Combaticons. (SFX: CRASH!!)

WIDER

As Decepticon jets dump artillery from above, Sentinel Robots surround the Combaticons.

CLOSER ON COMBATICONS

Brawl rises from the Combaticon heap, furious:

BRAWL It's a gang up! A cosmic lynching!

BRAWL
They're ganging up on us!

VORTEX
Well, let's gang up on THEM!

ONSLAUGHT
Combaticons -- transform to Bruticus!

And the weakened Combaticons TRANSFORM to a strong and powerful Bruticus, on the rampage swinging his arms wildly who rises up, knocking apart ceiling so the control room now shows through.

ANOTHER ANGLE

Bruticus RIPS out a chunk of the domed roof of Decepticon HQ command room and angrily throws it into the ground, then POUNDS his fist into the planet.

BRUTICUS (CONT)
Bruticus hates Cybertron! Bruticus hates you all!

ANGLE SHOOTING PAST PRIME

to the roof of the Decepticon HQ command room with smoke and dust flying everywhere, Prime spots the space bridge components through the exposed hole in domed roof and Bruticus's giant gun hooked into the Space bridge components and beaming towards Earth.

PRIME (VO)
The space bridge! They've altered it! That's what must be moving the Earth into toward the sun! C'mon!

WIDE ANGLE - THE AUTOBOTS, STARSCREAM, AND MEGATRON

They're all standing in awe of Bruticus.

SIDESWIPE
There must be some way to stop him!

STARSCREAM
There is!

Startled, everyone turns to Starscream.

ANGLE - STARSCREAM

Looks as if he was sorry he said anything.

WIDEN ANGLE

As megatron steps menacingly toward Starscream. He raises his laser cannon and points it at Starscream's head.

MEGATRON
Help us preserve the Earth and I might preserve you!

ANGLE - STARSCREAM

Talking fast to preserve his life.

STARSCREAM
I thought he might rebel so I made sure to build in a failsafe mechanism! There are three spots on his back. Hit them all and he's deactivated.

ANGLE - BRUTICUS

He thunders menacingly forward.

ANGLE ON BRUTICUS

As Sentinel robots rush at him, he flings them off like moths

BRUTICUS
You banished me! I do not like being banished!

ANOTHER ANGLE

Megatron BLASTS Bruticus -- it seems to make him angrier.

BRUTICUS (CONT)
We were imprisoned here on Cybertron for millions of years!

TWO SHOT - BRUTICUS AND MEGATRON

BRUTICUS (CONT)
Did you ever think of me once?!

Bruticus picks up Megatron over his head, and swings the Decepticon leader around as he rages on:

BRUTICUS
And now I will have my revenge!

WIDER ANGLE

As Prime sneaks up behind Bruticus, aims his laser, and shoots, SIZZLING three points on Bruticus's back and neck. Bruticus falls, like a ton of bricks, CRASHING down on his back.

PRIME
I hope Starscream was telling the truth!

CLOSE ON BRUTICUS

who lies stiffly on the ground.

BRUTICUS
Can't move. AHHHHH! Prime steps INTO SHOT points his weapon at Bruticus's head.

PRIME
Temporary paralysis. Sing the password or I'll make it permanent.

ANGLE - SIDESWIPE

THROUGH THE ROOF OF DECEPTICON HQ

Through the hole, we can see Sideswipe as he stands by the revamped space bridge unit.

Races for the space bridge chamber.

SIDESWIPE
Hurry, Prime! Hurry!

THE KEYBOARD

Sideswipe hand keys in the code as Starscream speaks it. works the keyboard.

CLOSE ON THE MONITOR

Sign shows computer image of Earth getting closer to the sun. The code "385270" appears on the monitor is then replaced by the question appears on screen: "CHANGE OF DIRECTION?"

ON SIDESWIPE

SIDESWIPE
Yes! Yes!

And he activates other controls.

CLOSE ON THE MONITOR SCREEN

The Earth stops moving... and then begins moving away from the Sun!

WIDE ANGLE

As Prime hurries over. PRIME
Sideswipe, are we in time?

SIDESWIPE
On the video monitor, yes. In reality; I don't know.

And their worried looks

CUT TO:

EXT. - OUTER SPACE

The Earth moves INTO CAMERA, away from the sun.

FLIP TO:

EXT. CYBERTRON

The Autobots stand together on the planet's surface, as Prime gets a message over his radio:

PERCEPTOR'S VOICE
(filtered) Temperature...decreasing!

PRIME
The Earth is safe!

ANGLE - MEGATRON AND STARSCREAM

Megatron whispers:

MEGATRON
Safe for our control.

Starscream whispers to Megatron behind his hand.

WIDER ON SCENE

As Prime enters scene and steps over to Megatron.

PRIME
Bruticus is a hazard to the galaxy. Yours and ours.

MEGATRON
(agreeing) I agree. We must destroy him!

Prime reacts with surprise.

MEGATRON (CONT)
Starscream!

WIDE ANGLE ON COMBATICONS'ASTEROID

As, from behind the asteroid, Ramjet and Thundercracker lift Bruticus's body up into the air by ropes.

ON OPTIMUS PRIME AND MEGATRON

MEGATRON
Goodbye, Bruticus!

They take aim and FIRE their weapons together at the giant robot o.s.

ON BRUTICUS

He EXPLODES into assorted space garbage... which slowly drifts OUT OF SHOT.

OPTIMUS PRIME (VO)
And good riddance!

INT. - DECEPTICON HQ - SPACE BRIDGE CHAMBER

as the Autobots enter the chamber.

PROWL
I still don't trust Megatron...

SUNSTREAKER
Yeah-- Why did he just let us leave to rejoin our friends on Earth...without even a BLAST for goodbye?!

TRACKS
-Frankly, I doubt if Bruticus is really destroyed!

As the chamber doors close behind them:

OPTIMUS PRIME (VO)
Whatever Megatron's evil motives are, you have to admit...

CUT TO:

EXT. - DECEPTICON HQ

as the space bridge tower shoots beams of light into the sky, sending its passengers back home...

PRIME (CONT-VO)
--if it weren't for him his help we wouldn't have any friends, to return to!

EXT. - NEAR THE COMBATICON ASTEROID HOLOGRAM MECHANISM

Megatron approaches Starscream, looking like he's gonna belt him again... and then pats him on the back.

MEGATRON
Nice hologram, You have redeemed yourself Starscream!

The CAMERA PULLS BACK to show they are standing next to Shockwave's projector-device.

MEGATRON (CONT)
Your plan worked, and Bruticus is ours! You may return to Earth... as my subordinate!

STARSCREAM
(swallowing) Thank you...for sparing me, Megatron!

WIDER ANGLE

As, behind them, the real Bruticus lies on the ground, his head plate open, revealing many components.

MEGATRON
Once we finish reprogramming Bruticus to obey instructions only me, he will be unstoppable!
