EXT. - DECEPTICON HQ ON CYBERTRON

As the CAMERA PUSHES IN on the Combaticons standing outside the domed building...

ONSLAUGHT (VO)
I'm pleased to report that our mission of revenge is proceeding splendidly ...

CLOSER ON COMBATICONS

Onslaught paces before the other Combaticons, who are lined up in front of him at attention near Decepticon HQ.

ONSLAUGHT (CONT)
Using existing space bridge technology, we shall drive the Earth--with Megatron on it-- into the sun, where he will--

Suddenly they hear O.S. EXPLOSIONS!

ONSLAUGHT (CONT)
Brawl! What is it?

ANGLE ON BRAWL

still at attention, looking surprised.

BRAWL
We're under attack!

WIDE ON SCENE

Another round of rockets and rays PIERCES and BOMBS the Combaticons -- CAMERA PANS UP to find it eminating from an army of giant spacecrafts with tentacles, cubic wings, and massive scythes--ROARING through the Cybertron sky.

VORTEX (VO)
It's a sneak attack!

VORTEX

TRANSFORMS to a chopper, spins up in the air, and FIRES o.s.

VORTEX (CONT-VO)
(excited) I love sneak attacks! !

SWINDLE

TRANSFORMS to his jeep mode and.drives around in circles.

SWINDLE (VO)
Get 'em, Vortex! Blast 'em to Shreds! I'll pick up the pieces!

ANGLE ON ONSLAUGHT AND BLAST OFF

They remain on the ground in robot mode, Blast off FIRING his ionic blaster, and Onslaught his sonic stun gun.

ONSLAUGHT
Wish I had my photon missiles, but I needed 'em for Megatron! This stun gun doesn't even seem to slow them up! We're not even slowing them down!

BLAST OFF
I heartily concure-- my ionic blaster should be disrupting their electrical flow-- but nothinq!

He TRANSFORMS to shuttle mode and BLASTS OFF, rocketing up and O.S.

ON BRAWL

already transformed to tank mode, spinning his turret around and FIRING blindly.

BRAWL (VO)
Where'd you go? Come back here! Hey! I blasted you! Fall down! Keep firing!

AERIAL VIEW

The five Combaticons battle the army of ships that just seem to fly THROUGH SHOT, back and forth. Blast Off is chasing after them, as well as Vortex, as the others FIRE from the ground. CAMERA PANS to the asteroid, and behind it we see the forms of Shockwave, Starscream, and the holographic projector...

CLOSER ANGLE - BEHIND THE ASTEROID

Starscream and Shockwave in robot mode are hidden behind the asteroid with the holograph projector.

Brawl--still in tank mode--rolls o.s. after them.

BRAWL (VO)
Who cares! Let's annihilate 'em!

BACK TO STARSCREAM

as Starscream watches the action on the viewscreen.

STARSCREAM
They are clever..but not as clever as I am! Fools!

WIDER

Starscream starts to go o.s., and Shockwave turns his head.

STARSCREAM (CONT)
Now that they're busy fighting illusions, let's walk back into Decepticon headquarters and recapture it! reclaim the teleport chamber!

and Shockwave follows him o.s. as we...

FLIP TO:

INT. - DECEPTICON HQ - DOMED ROOM

Shockwave runs INTO the room, followed by Starscream.

STARSCREAM
But I don't understand! What's wrong?!

SHOCKWAVE
Someone has altered the space bridge receiver...

CLOSER ON CONTROLS

Shockwave runs up INTO SHOT to see that the controls are set:

SHOCKWAVE (CONT)
-- toward the Earth is on a collision course into with the sun!

Starscream comes over to join Shockwave as the giant robot tries punching keys on the keyboard. (SFX: ELECTRICAL TONES)

STARSCREAM
Terrific! All The Autobots on Earth will be destroyed!

Shockwave pauses to turn to Starscream.

SHOCKWAVE Must I remind you that our leader But Megatron is on Earth, too?!

CLOSE ON STARSCREAM

A plan is hatching in those beady circuits!

STARSCREAM
Megatron...destroyed?!

SHOCKWAVE (VO)
I must try to reverse the Procedure!

WIDER

Starscream steps back and ZAPS Shockwave from behind with his stun weapon, and the big robot slumps to the floor, deactivated.

STARSCREAM
You will do nothing of the sort-- not yet, anyway! My Combaticons have done well!

FLIP TO:

EXT. - (EARTH) - ON AUTOBOTS

The Autobots, all in robot mode, are examining the ground near the space bridge, trying to find the control panel.

OPTIMUS PRIME (VO)
Activate Autobots metal detectors! We must find the control panel to the space bridge!

CAMERA PANS to the other Autobots, searching the ground with their built-in metal detectors. Suddenly Prowl's detector lets loose with a PULSATING SOUND.

PROWL
Over here, Prime--I found it!

He BLASTS at the ground with his weapon, and, as the other Autobots join him INTO SCENE, reaches down into the hole and pul.1s out an old television set! The others sag...

MUCH WIDER

as Megatron, in the foreground, watches the Autobots work.

MEGATRON (VO)
(MALICIOUS LAUGHTER)

He's cut short by STATIC on Megatron's radio, which is followed by:

STARSCREAM'S VOICE
(filtered) Come in, Mega-bum!

CLOSER ON MEGATRON

He is outraged, speaking into his transmitter.

MEGATRON
Starscream?

STARSCREAM (VO)
(filtered) It ain't Teletraan I! Say hello to your new leader, Megatron Acknowledge me as the new Decepticon leader or I shall allow the Earth--and you--to fall into the sun!

CUT TO:

INT. - SHOCKWAVE'S CONTROL ROOM

where we have seen Shockwave contact Megatron in previous episodes. Megatron can be seen on the viewscreen as Starscream speaks into the transmitter.

MEGATRON
(filtered) You're bluffing, Starscream!

STARSCREAM
Check the thermometer, Megatron! I will rule the universe... even if I am the only one left in the universe!

MEGATRON
(filtered) Starsceam..! I answer I'll stop you--no matter--

Starscream hits a switch on the console, and the viewscreen goes black Starscream leans back, hands behind his head.

STARSCREAM
Keep your cool, Megatron..!! I'll be waiting for your answer, Megatron! He hits a switch on the console and the viewscreen goes black.

FLIP TO:

EXT. - COMBATICONS

As they BATTLE with the gargoyle projection, BLASTING at it with everything they've got...

ONSLAUGHT (VO)
we can't stop them! Our weapons have no power!! have run out of power!

--but it doesn't vanish. it suddenly WAVERS and VANISHES as before!

ANGLE ON ALL COMBATICONS EXCEPT SWINDLE

Brawl and Vortex (who lands INTO SCENE) TRANSFORM to robot mode. lashing out at empty air. o.s. They all wait for the gargoyles to attack but they just remain in space as before--as if nothing has changed.

BLAST OFF
(quietly) I don't understand...!

SWINDLE (VO)
Maybe this'll clear things up!

They all look to O.S. the side at Swindle.

ANGLE - SWINDLE AND HOLOGRAPH PROJECTOR

He stands next to the projection device.

SWINDLE (CONT)
Gentlemen... We've been had!

BACK TO COMBATICONS

He pushes a button and the image disappears.

ONSLAUGHT
To Decepticon Headquarters... on the double!! And, as Swindle joins them INTO SCENE, Vortex, Blast Off, and Swindle TRANSFORM to vehicle modes as they all rush o.s.

EXT. - (EARTH) - NEAR SPACE BRIDGE

Megatron swoops down INTO SCENE near the space bridge -- and discovers the missing control panel, and the Insecticon hole.

MEGATRON
So that's what the Autobots are looking for--!

CLOSER ON MEGATRON

He speaks into his built-in transmitter...

MEGATRON (CONT)

Ramjet, Dirge...find the Insecticon!, and get the space bridge control panel back.

FLIP TO:

CYBERTRON - INT. OF DOMED ROOM

Starscream is at the controls of the revamped space bridge with his back to Shockwave, still on the floor.

STARSCREAM (VO)
If Megatron does not relinquish control, I will see him destroyed!

ANGLE ON SHOCKWAVE

He stirs... then sees Starscream o.s. Angrily, he FIRES his weapon--

WIDER

--and BLASTS Starscream, who reels back in pain.

STARSCREAM (CONT)
You fool! We're partners!

SHOCKWAVE
I am irreversably programmed to serve only Megatron.

He FIRES again at Starscream, but Starscream ducks the ray, and FIRES his own null-ray back at Shockwave.

STARSCREAM
Then go back to Earth and die with Megatron!

ONSLAUGHT (VO)
(commanding) Cease fire!!

They both look up to see...

THEIR POV - THE COMBATICONS

standing in the room in robot mode, weapons trained on them.

STARSCREAM (VO)
Wait, wait! Don't fire!

CLOSE ON STARSCREAM

Starscream makes a plea for their emotions, motioning to himself...

STARSCREAM (CONT)
I am your creator!!

WIDE ON SCENE

as Brawl goes over to Starscream and grabs him by the elbow

BRAWL
You are now our prisoners!

ONSLAUGHT
Take them to the Fort Cybertron Brig!

And the Combaticons take the two prisoners OFF as we...

FLIP TO:

INT. - DECEPTICON HO - UNDERGROUND

Long rows of prison cells -- with electronic bars BUZZING -- overcrowded with Sentinel robots. CAMERA PANS to an empty cell where Starscream and Shockwave are thrown in by Brawl and Blast Off.

BRAWL
Get in there...!

ANOTHER ANGLE

Blast Off operates a button that activates ELECTRONIC jail bars over the empty cell, trapping the two Decepticons inside.

CUT TO:

EXT. - FARM - DAY

CAMERA PANS acre upon acre of scorched vegetables, dried out fruits, cracked soil, dehydrated chickens, and cattle. A FARMER reaches down a well, reels up his bucket, turns it upside down -- it is empty. He peers down into the well.

FARMER
Totally evaporated!

CLOSE ON THE FARMER

His face perspiring profusely, his eyes have trouble remaining open. He wipes his brow and looks up at the sky.

THE SUN

looms large in-the sky.

ANGLE - DRIED BRUSH

Under the scorching heat, it ignites into a CRACKLING blaze The farmer staggers INTO SHOT, crying out:

FARMER (CONT)
Fire! Help!!

ANOTHER ANGLE

Miles of scorching farm land -- a distant SIREN is heard, and then out of the distance comes HOT SPOT, speeding toward the burning brush. He stops -- about a thousand feet from the wild blaze -- as the farmer waves his hands.

FARMER (CONT)
Over here! Over here!

Hot Spot sprays the fire, from 1000 feet away, and snuffs it to a cloud of smoke.

INT. - HOTSPOT

His radio SCREAMING with calls: (Ad lib) "Help!" "Fire!" (etc.)

HOTSPOT (VO)
Hey, Inferno! Red Alert! Where the heck are you guys?

CUT TO:

EXT. - JUNGLE - DAY

A RAGING fire pours a cloud of smoke high above the palm trees and other dense foliage. CAMERA PUSHES IN to find INFERNO and RED ALERT battling the blaze with thick white foam.

RED ALERT (VO)
We were about to ask you the same question, Hotspot!

INFERNO
Everything we snuff lights up again!

INFERNO
Everything we snuff catches fire again

RED ALERT
Keep at it, Inferno!

WIDE ANGLE

They put out the blaze, leaving only the billowing smoke. But suddenly another blaze starts up, spreading rapidly through the bush -- Inferno turns.

INFERNO (CONT-VO)
Hey, over there!

ANOTHER ANGLE

More fires start up in the distance.

RED ALERT (VO)
There's a village over in there!

Inferno races INTO SHOT, SHOOTING foam at the distant leaping flames -- as BLADES flies INTO SHOT from another angle, and into the fire the midst of the chaos.

BLADES (VO)
Need a lift?

Blades disappears for a moment, then ascends with a group of native people and wild animals hanging from the feet of his chopper.

INT. - UNDERGROUND PARKING LOT

A few vehicles come and go, some pull into parking spaces. CAMERA PANS OVER to a crack in the wall; it grows larger until part of the wall CRUMBLES -- and the Insecticons, led by Shrapnel (who holds the space bridge control panel) , emerge.

CLOSER ON SHRAPNEL

surrounded by other Insecticons,

SHRAPNEL
We will hide here until the heat is off, off. We lost the Autobots.

ON KICKBACK

He kicks a parked car, knocking it over with a CRASH!

KICKBACK
Meanwhile, let the buffet be open! Time for a buffet!

ANGLE - THE CEILING

As RAMJET (in robot mode) CRASHES through. CAMERA FOLLOWS as he lands, hears a HONKING CAR HORN, and turns.

HIS POV:

Insecticons are gobbling down parts of the overturned car.

RAMJET

hollers up toward the gape in the ceiling.

RAMJET
I found 'em!

And in flies Megatron and Thundercracker, in robot mode. Megatron steps forward, aims his cannon.

MEGATRON
Where is my control panel?!

ANOTHER ANGLE

Suddenly, Prowl, Tracks, Sideswipe, and Prime (with Spike in his cab) SCREECH INTO SCENE next to the Decepticons.

ANGLE - THE INSECTICONS

Near their hole in the wall, they hover together scared. The control panel can be partially seen behind them.

SHRAPNEL
Megatron! Megatron!

ON PRIME

Spike leaps out of his cab and points.

SPIKE
Look! The control panel! Oh no! There's the control pane! --

CLOSE ON THE PANEL

It is covered with teeth marks, and gashes with severed and frayed wires hanging out!

SPIKE (VO-CONT)
It looks like it's been partially eaten! --but the Insecticons have chewed it up!
